  • I have been taking my Persian cat to Danelle German of The Catty Shack for several years. Even though the drive from Anderson to Simpsonville is longer than I’d like, it is well worth the time. I like to keep my cat in full-coat so that he looks full and fluffy. With Danelle’s experience in grooming Persians I know he’s going to come home looking fantastic every time. She always takes the time to trim his face and [...]

  • What do you do when your long-hair cat has a behavior problem and is in need of grooming. You need a groomer that can handle her but is not too physical with her. This would result in a bad experience, a bad haircut, and lots of stress for all of us.
After finding Danelle at the Catty Shack we were pleased to find that not only did Rosie get a good haircut, but she also had a good demeanor afterwards. [...]

The Catty Shack was originally Bara Cattery and Grooming. Danelle German,CFMG, CFCG, owner and groomer, gained experience in feline grooming from her years of successfully showing her own Persians in CFA cat shows around the country from 1999 through 2005. Along the way, she earned several Regional and National awards with her cats, finishing up her show career in 2005 with CFA’s 3rd Best Cat in Premiership, GC, GP, NW Chantilylace Groucho Marks of Bara, DM.

Upon request of The Cat Clinic of Greenville (veterinary services exclusively for cats), Danelle opened her doors to the public in January 2001 working out of her home where her husband had built a cattery and grooming room for her own Persians. Out of this, a successful feline-only grooming salon was born.

As the business grew, Danelle decided to close the cattery part of it so that she could focus solely on serving her clientele. She also decided that the business needed a new name – one that made it recognizable as catering to cats.

In 2003, The Catty Shack was moved to Main Street, Simpsonville and incorporated shortly thereafter.

The Catty Shack continues to serve the Upstate of South Carolina and surrounding areas as the only feline-exclusive grooming and boarding facility. Clients are pleased to know that they do not have to contend with dogs on the premises, making cats feel more at ease with their spa experience. Morgan Reynolds and her staff work well with the cats so that they leave looking and feeling their absolute finest.
